What to know about VW
Diesel TDI
On TDI engines frequent topics are the EGR valve (P0401), the DPF filter (P2463), the nozzles and the turbo (P0299).
Petrol TSI
In some of the gasoline TSI engines, the gearing has a chain that stretches with mileage - a sign is a rattling when cold and a code P0016.
Gearing
With belt motors, replacement at the manufacturer's interval is mandatory - most are interference and a broken belt will damage the head.
